WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Haverford College men's cross country team placed 12th at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championship at the Lake Breeze Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Charlie Marquardt added an All-American certificate with an 18th place finish (24:45.8). It's his first career cross country certificate, but fourth between all three running seasons. He is the 33rd cross country All-American in program history and the first one since Chris Stadler '14 in 2013. Marquardt will end his cross country career with eight individual titles, including two Centennial Conference and Mideast Regional crowns.

Junior Jimmy Gorman (25:27.8) was the second Ford to cross the finish line in 88th place. In his third trip to the NCAA meet, Gorman improved 159 spots from last year's run. Senior Nicholas Gandolfo-Lucia was just two seconds behind Gorman (25:29.8) in 93rd. Running in his second national meet, the senior jumped 50 positions. Sophomore Henry Woods was 120th (25:37.6), while freshman Graham Peet finished in the 140th position (25:44.1). Senior Sam Fujimori was just behind Peet (143rd, 25:45.3). This was Fujimori's second run at the NCAA Championship, his previous attempt coming in 2013 (168th). Senior Dylan Verner-Crist rounded out the Haverford runners, placing 197th (26:02.9).

Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the team title with four All-Americans, including Josh Thorson's second place tally (24:15). Wisconsin-Platteville's Ian LaMere won the individual title (23:35.4) by 40 seconds.

The cross country team will now participate in indoor track. The men's indoor track & field team gets its season started with the Villanova Pyrah Invitational at the Alumni Field House on Saturday, December 5. The meet is scheduled for 12 p.m.
