Tatum Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Kristin Tatum has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week as announced by conference officials. Tatum earns the honor for the third time in her career after also earning this same recognition on March 23, 2013 and March 25, 2015.

It was a record-breaking three home runs that propelled the Fords' senior catcher to her latest weekly accolade. Tatum blasted those program-record three home runs in the second game of the Fords' doubleheader at Eastern. Just nine times in program history has a player homered twice in a game, three of those occasions have been Tatum.

Her second game heroics at the plate helped Haverford to a 2-0 week in its only game action. She finished the doubleheader sweep of Eastern 4-for-6 at the plate with four extra-base hits, four runs scored, five runs driven in, and one walk.

A first-team All-Centennial Conference and third-team all-region performer last season, Tatum has already set the program record with 17 home runs during her career. She is third in career slugging percentage (.833) and fourth in career on-base percentage (.420). She also ranks among the top 10 players in program history in doubles, total bases, runs score, runs batted in, and walks.

Softball is scheduled for a pair of doubleheaders this week. Up first will be the team's home opener on Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Immaculata. Centennial Conference play will open for the Fords this Saturday at defending champion McDaniel.
