HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ashley Sisto has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week after a strong start to her Haverford College softball career. During the six games which counted in this week's results, Sisto hit .474 with four runs scored and four RBI.
Haverford finished its week in Florida on a four-game winning streak. Sisto recorded nine hits in her final 19 at-bats of the trip, including a pair of doubles as she slugged .579 with a .524 on-base percentage during that time. Sisto had multiple hits in three of those six contests, highlighted by a 3-for-4 day at the plate to close the week with an 8-2 win against Drew. She also scored a run and drove in two more during that victory.
Sisto's .440 batting average for the year is currently the fifth best mark in the Centennial Conference, while her on-base percentage also ranks among the top 10.
Softball is currently scheduled to play its home opener this Thursday against Eastern. First pitch for the doubleheader on the Class of '95 Field is set for 3 p.m. The Fords are also slated to play at home this Saturday against Widener with the doubleheader getting underway at 1 p.m.
