CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College softball team dropped a pair of one-run games to host Dickinson on Sunday. The Fords (17-9, 7-5 CC) fell by a 1-0 score in the opening game and were victims of a come-from-behind victory from the Red Devils (17-15, 6-8 CC) with a 3-2 defeat in game two.

Temma Levis allowed just four hits and one walk, but was the hard-luck loser on Sunday as Dickinson's Madison Milaszeski pitched a complete game shutout to start the day. The Red Devils' ace allowed five hits during her seven innings in the circle. Levis had retired 13 of the first 14 Dickinson batters she faced before a two-out single in the fifth scored an earlier double to provide the game's only offense.

The Fords left a runner stranded in scoring position during their half of the fifth and had their best chance to score in the sixth. Alex Craig and Nicole Swisher had back-to-back singles to start that inning. A fielder's choice cut down the lead runner Craig, but a passed ball moved both of those runners into scoring position. Nevertheless, Milaszeski got a strikeout and pop up on the infield to escape any damage. Marybeth Stone singled with one out in the seventh inning, but was stranded on the base paths to close the contest.

During game two, Haverford jumped in front with a pair of runs in the second inning. Jessica Koshinski started the frame with a walk, while a single off the bat of Emma Souter put runners at first and second. A ground ball to second base put runners on the corners with one out, but another fielder's choice hit to the third baseman cut down Koshinski trying to score the game's first run. Nevertheless, Levis delivered a two-out two-run double to help her own cause.

Haverford left the bases loaded in the fourth and that missed opportunity loomed large as the Red Devils came back to take the lead in the bottom half of that inning. Dickinson took the lead with those three runs coming on just two hits. Haverford left three runners on base during the final two innings as Souter doubled to start the sixth and Rachel Wolfson reached on a hit by pitch before being left at first. Ashley Sisto was also hit by pitch in the seventh, but was stranded after two fly balls into the outfield.

Heading into the final week of the regular season, Haverford is currently in sole possession of fourth place. Nevertheless, a huge doubleheader will close out the home slate as rival Swarthmore enters this coming Tuesday's games just one game back of the Fords for the final playoff spot. That doubleheader, which also has a Hood Trophy point up for grabs, is slated for a 3 p.m. start on the Class of '95 Field.
