Julia Blake Repeats as CC Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Julia Blake continued her torrid start to the 2019 season as she repeated her honor as Centennial Conference Player of the Week. Taking into account games that have been played since Monday, March 11. The honor is the second straight for Blake who is a three-time All-Centennial Conference performer entering her senior campaign.

During Haverford's last eight games, Blake slugged .929 as eight of her 13 hits went for extra bases. She batted .464 last week with a .531 on-base percentage. The Fords' co-captain also scored eight runs over the course of those final eight games in Florida, including four games where she scored multiple runs.

After leading the conference in both batting average and on-base percentage as a junior, Blake is currently leading the conference in batting average (.486) and slugging percentage (.971) this year. Her three home runs also top her Centennial peers, while her 14 runs, six doubles, and 34 total bases all rank within the top three players. She is currently getting on base at a .550 clip and has stolen five bases. Both of those marks rank in the top five.

The Fords went 7-3 overall during their week in Florida for the second most wins during the team's spring break trip in school history, surpassed only by eight wins a season ago. The Fords will now open their home slate this week against Immaculata (Tuesday) and Neumann (Thursday). Both of those doubleheaders are set to begin at 3 p.m. on the Class of '95 Field. Capping a busy week, Haverford will also be on the road this Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Cabrini.
