HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College Softball team has announced their 2024 schedule. Kate Gatti returns for season seven with the Fords, looking to reenter the Centennial Conference Championship tournament for the first time since 2019, when the Fords finished as runner-ups in the Centennial.
The Scarlet and Black open their 2024 campaign with a double-header against Cabrini on March 7, with the pair of games slated for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Class of '95 Field.
Following their season opening double-header, Haverford travels down to the warm and sunny climate of Florida for their annual Spring Break trip to the Orlando area for games beginning on March 9 and spanning through March 16.
Following their return to Pennsylvania, it's right back to business for the Scarlet and Black, as the Fords take on Immaculata on March 19, in their first road showdown of the season. After the matchup with the Mighty Macs, the Fords tangle with Arcadia (March 21) and Rowan (March 23) at home, before heading to St. Davids, Pa. for a clash with the Eagles of Eastern on March 26.
The Widener Pride roll into town on March 28, before the Fords end the month of March with their first Centennial Conference matchup of the season against the Green Terror of McDaniel on March 30.
After the second Centennial Conference battle of the season with the Shorewomen of Washington College on April 2, Haverford heads back home for a three-game homestand.
Following a quick non-conference meeting with Penn State Brandywine on April 4, two Centennial Conference foes pay a visit to Class of '95 Field, as the Scarlet and Black collide with Gettysburg (April 6), before locking horns with the 2023 Centennial Conference Champion Garnet of Swarthmore on April 9. The dust-up on the diamond will also be worth one point in the Hood Trophy Competition between the two schools.
The Fords then head back on the road, traveling to Carlisle, Pa. for a pair of games against the Red Devils of Dickinson (April 13), before hosting the Muhlenberg Mules on April 16, to cap off the 2024 home slate.
On the road once again, Haverford heads to Franklin & Marshall on April 20, for Saturday matinee softball, before a mid-week business trip at Ursinus on April 23, to conclude the 2024 regular season.
The double-elimination Centennial Conference Championship tournament will commence on April 30, rolling on through May 2, and May 4, with the championship game being played on May 5.
