HAVERFORD, Pa. – After weeks of moving up the ranks of teams receiving votes, the Haverford College women's soccer team debuted in the D3Soccer.com Top 25 this week. The Fords received 45 voting points to climb into the final ranked position in the poll.
A stifling defense has fueled Haverford's rise in the rankings as the Fords (7-1-1, 2-0 CC) are unbeaten in their last eight games and have given up just one goal during that stretch. This past week's victories were a pair of 1-0 wins against Widener and Gettysburg. The win against Gettysburg kept the Fords as one of three remaining unbeaten teams in conference play along with Johns Hopkins and McDaniel.
With its full attention on the Centennial Conference this week, Haverford will travel to Ursinus on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game under the lights. The Fords will return to Walton Field this Saturday for a 1 p.m. start against Franklin & Marshall.
