What classes did you take while studying abroad? Which were your favorite?
My program offers classes on politics and language, and we learned about Ecuador's government, local activism, and indigenous culture. My favorite class was our Kichwa language course because we learned about the indigenous language for three days and then stayed with indigenous families in the Amazon for a week to practice Kichwa and experience their culture.

What were the most interesting/memorable moments from the semester?
We visited the Galapagos islands, we lived on a sustainable farm in the cloud forest, and I spent a month in Cuenca working on an independent study in archaeology, cleaning and studying pre-Incan ceramics.

Why did you decide to study abroad?
Before last year I had not left the country, and for years I've known that studying abroad was going to be my opportunity to experience part of the world. Everyone says it's an amazing time for growth and enhancing perspective, so I wanted to challenge myself in that respect.

What are your future career plans?
I would like to be a software engineer or mobile developer for an esteemed tech company when I graduate, so I'll be interviewing for those jobs in the fall.
