Hey everyone and welcome to the 2019 international trip to Portugal!!
I'm Karlie, a rising sophomore, and I hope to capture every moment of our fantastic trip for all of you reading at home! Even though today wasn't full of luxurious beaches and fabulous soccer (keep reading for a few days), I think I can speak for everyone by saying today was an awesome day.
The team arrived on campus for an informational meeting on all of the activities that will be occurring throughout the trip. Full of many hugs and stories about everyone's summer experiences, you could tell soccer season was here! After grabbing some lunch and hanging around campus for a few hours, we all packed up our bags and headed to the airport. Surprisingly, check in and security was a very smooth and quick progress. We scattered throughout the airport to find the best meals, and just like that it was time to board our flight.
Of course our airport downtime couldn't go without throwing a few games in there for some nice competition to start the week off. Biggest lesson we all learned today, some people just don't understand riddles. You could give examples or have other people try to explain it, but some people just were not comprehending even after their 20th guess. As we all settle into our seats on the flight right now, it is hard to sit still thinking about all the exciting plans we have tomorrow!
