Full United Soccer Coaches Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Haverford College women's soccer program has been honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 season, the United Soccer Coaches announced on Wednesday. Haverford was one of 494 women's teams to earn the award this past season.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
A total of 801 soccer teams (307 men, 494 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 academic year. Of that total, 179 schools, including Haverford, had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
After the fall of 2022, 23 members of the squad were additionally named to the Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, with Claire Cywes, Sarah Klink, Sadie Kim, Ashley Chun, Kendall Ozorowski, Ella Manning, April Zeng, Alyssa Saito, Keira Prince, Julia Noppenberger, Scout Crooke, Celia Page, Alana Ponte, Nora Gaby-Biegel, Bailey Bowman, Sophia Miranda, Calais Irwin, Liv McMillan, Theresa Haupt, Meg Bowen, Mitali Kessinger, Grace Haskell, and Angie Geralis all earning the honor.
Women's Soccer begins its 2023 fall campaign on Labor Day weekend, with action from September 2-3 at the Haverford Kick Off Classic. The two-day round robin features the host Fords, Arcadia, William Smith, and TCNJ. The contests begin at Walton Field begins at 12 p.m. each day.
