Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team has been picked to finish seventh in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, the conference office announced in its annual preseason release Tuesday morning. 

Defending national champion Johns Hopkins was picked to top the conference. The Blue Jays collected all 10 possible first-place votes and 100 points to earn the top spot in a vote among CC head coaches.

Sophomore Lauren Anderson is Haverford's returning All-Centennial Conference performer after helping to anchor a young back line a season ago, while co-leading scorer Liv McMillan (14 points, five goals in 2022) returns for her senior season on the forward line.

Dickinson was projected to place second in the poll with 85 points, while Swarthmore took third with 80 points and the other first-place nod. McDaniel (74), Franklin & Marshall (71) and Gettysburg (52) were also picked to qualify for the six-team CC postseason tournament. Haverford was picked seventh with 47 points, followed by Washington College (34), Ursinus (31), Muhlenberg (19) and Bryn Mawr (12).

The regular season slate begins in earnest with the annual Haverford Kick-Off Classic as the Fords welcome in a pair of formidable foes, Arcadia (Sept. 2) and TCNJ (Sept. 3), to Walton Field. The tournament field also includes 2022 national quarterfinalist William Smith, as the Herons come to campus with the No. 7 national ranking.

All Haverford home games are streamed live via the Centennial Conference Digital Network. The digital network is also available to Centennial fans through a customized mobile app, online, and through CC streaming applications for Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV and Roku devices.
