Six From Women's Soccer Named to CSC Academic All-District Honors

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Six members of the Haverford College women's soccer team were honored by College Sports Communications (formerly CoSIDA) as members of the CSC Academic All-District team, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday.

To be eligible for Academic All-District accolades, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, appear in 90 percent of their team's contests or start in at least 66 percent, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better.

Sophomore Lauren Anderson, juniors Grace Haskell, Sarah Klink, and Keira Prince, and seniors Liv McMillan and Julia Noppenberger all earned the regional academic plaudit for the Fords this season.

Anderson, an honorable mention All-CC pick after the 2023 season, started all 16 games along the backline for the Fords. She appeared in the starting lineup for all five of Haverford's shutouts. The Bala Cynwyd, Pa., product recorded one shot in the final game of the year against #21 Swarthmore.

Haskell, a second-team All-CC pick, more than doubled her points from last season and achieved new career highs in goals, assists, points, shots, and shots on goal. The Middletown, R.I., native ended the year tied for the team lead in goals with five and points with thirteen. The junior forward also ranked fifth in the Centennial Conference in total shots with 51. Haskell notably had two separate three-point games within a week span against Muhlenberg (Oct. 4) and Ursinus (Oct. 11).

Klink, who also took home All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, improved upon a successful 2022 season by scoring four goals and adding an assist to end 2023 third on the team in goals and tied for third in points. Hailing from Hereford, Md., the center midfielder was a fixture in the middle of the field and prominently had a three-point day, scoring a goal and dishing an assist in a 7-0 win over Immaculata on September 26.

Prince, of Middletown, N.J., tied for the team lead in goals with five and points with 13. She tied for second on the team with three assists and ended the season with a career-high in shots with 31 while putting 12 shots on goal.

McMillan, from Marlton, N.J., started in all 17 games for the Fords. She led the team and finished tied for fourth in the Centennial Conference in assists with five. McMillan finished second on the team in shots with 32 and shots on goal with 13.

Noppenberger, of Ellicott City, Md., was one of eight players who made appearances in all 17 games this season, notching 12 starts. She tallied a pair of goals in Haverford's road win at Immaculata in late September and finished the season with 12 shots, rocketing nine on cage.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division II, and NAIA.
