HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team showed it is ready for the upcoming Centennial Conference championships with a solid performance at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday at the Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center in Alumni Field House.
Sophomore Nora Weathers registered the Fords' highest finish of the day with a second-place showing in the mile. Weather's career-best time of 5 minutes, 11.07 seconds currently ranks eighth on the conference performance list.
Clarice Bourland also delivered a career-best time in the mile as the freshman finished in 5:20.33 to place seventh. Bourland's time ranks 14th among conference performances this season.
Bourland's classmate Brittany Steele placed third in the 60-meter dash in 8.02 seconds.
The 3,000-meter run saw four Haverford runners finish in the top 10. Junior Charlotte Lellman and senior Flora Berklein placed fourth and fifth, respectively, with career-best times of 10:46.56 and 10:47.55. Season-best performances from seniors Chelsea Thorsheim (11:21.91) and Nora Howe (11:30.10) were good for eighth and 10th, respectively.
Senior Emily Scott placed eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:25.20 while junior Katherine Greifeld finished in 10th (2:25.72).
Senior Stephanie Kahn also ran well on Saturday with a season-best time of 1:05.15 in the 400 to take seventh.
The Fords' 4x200 relay squad placed fourth with a time of 1:52.62.
Haverford hosts the two-day Centennial championship meet next weekend at Alumni Field House beginning on Saturday.
