HAVERFORD, Pa. – Kelley Riffenburgh highlighted day one action of the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships with a school record time of 17:24.61 to capture the individual title in the 5,000 meters. As a team, the Fords had four individuals score. Haverford is currently tied for second as a team heading into the second day of competition with 23 team points.

Riffenburgh's championship winning time breaks the school record previously held by Jen Maranzano '94. Marazano's record (17:26.9) stood for nearly 20 years until today. Riffenburgh's nearly 40 second personal best from last year's Centennial Championships moves her up to 13th in the national rankings for the event. Haverford has now won the 5,000 meters a conference record nine times. The last Haverford runner to win this event was Fiona Hendry during the 2013 season. Marazano won the inaugural championship during the 1994 indoor season.

Haverford also had two scorers in the triple jump as Carolyn Oehrig and Elizabeth Reikowski placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Oehrig set a new personal best with a leap of 10.49 meters (34'5"). She finished just under an inch away from second place and now sits as the eighth ranked individual in program history in the event. Reikowski jumped 10.45 meters (34'3.5") for fifth overall.

Robin Chernow was Haverford's final scorer on the day with a fifth place finish in her first Pentathlon. Chernow scored 2,328 points. As one of only four individuals to contest the event in school history, Chernow's point total is the second highest to Jessie Belden '09. Chernow finished with the top shot put throw among the pentathlon competitors (34'0"). She was fifth in both the 800 meter run (2:48.39) and 60 meter hurdles (10.96), while finishing sixth in the high jump (4'3.5") and ninth in the long jump (13'6").

The 2015 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will resume inside Haverford's Alumni Field House Sunday morning with the first event set for 9:30 a.m.
