HAVERFORD, Pa. – Jessica Lopez was honored as the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week following her record-breaking performance in the 60-meter dash at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday. Lopez earned the honor for the first time in her career after capturing her latest individual title.

Lopez, a sophomore, won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.96 seconds to break her old personal best time by eight-hundredths of a second which she set earlier this winter. Her new PR moves her up to second in Haverford's record book for the event and makes her the No. 1 seed heading into this weekend's Centennial Conference Championship at Franklin & Marshall.

This weekend's victory marks the fifth individual title of Lopez's track & field career. Her win was the third time this season that she has won the 60 meter dash inside the Alumni Field House. Lopez also won the 60-meter dash during the Haverford Holiday Invitational and McElligott Invitational this earlier in the year. In addition to excelling in this event, Lopez also holds the sixth-fastest 200-meter dash and third-best triple jump in the conference during the indoor season.

Women's track & field will head to the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at Franklin & Marshall. The meet gets underway Saturday and will continue into Sunday.
