HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team has garnered a bevy of All-Metro Region certificates from the USTFCCCA, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday evening, with a total of eight certificates coming to the Haverford campus.
The Fords 4x400 meter relay squad of Naomi Fukuda, Jahsaiah Moses, Rachel November, and Isabel Thornberry was honored as the third-fastest relay performance in the Metro Region, clocking a 4:09.71 at the Centennial Conference Championships.
In addition to that grouping, a pair of distance runners were also honored with Angie Petrichenko and Katie Hirsche picking up All-metro awards. Petrichenko ran the fastest 5,000-meter time in the Region at the CC championships (17:25.40) while first year Hirsche's 18:18.35 mark at the Fastrack National Invite ranks fourth.
Petrichenko also notched the fastest 3k in the region (10:06.61) while Hirsche clocked the fourth-fastest time (10:27.06), with both of those marks coming in the Centennial Conference Championships.
Petrichenko has been selected to represent Haverford College in the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston Salem, N.C. on Friday, March 11. The senior from Bellingham, Wash. will contest the 5,000 meters on Friday afternoon at 4:35 p.m at the JDL Fast Track.
