Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. -  Sarah Wilcher of the Women's Indoor Track & Field team has earned the Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week award, the Centennial Conference league office announced in a release Tuesday morning. The Centennial Conference accolade is the first of Wilcher's career.

Competing in the shot put, the sophomore took home second place overall, tossing the shot put 12.28 meters (40 feet, three inches), establishing the 23rd best distance in Division III so far this season.  The impressive throw marked a new personal-best and a third all-time individual mark in program history, as she became the first Haverford athlete since 2018 to clear the 40-foot mark. 

Shot put was not the only event the Indianapolis, Ind. local competed in at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational, as Wilcher placed third in the weight throw, tossing a distance of 13.06 meters (42 feet, 10 inches), good for third all-time in school history.

Wilcher and the rest of the Women's Track & Field team will return to action Saturday, January 20, 2024, for the Collegeville Invitational right back at the Floy Bakes Track Center on the campus of Ursinus College, with the start of the meet slated for 10 a.m.
