Three Fords run NCAA provisional times to lead track & field teams

PRINCETON, N.J. – Ivo Milic-Straklj, Joseph Carpenter and Anders Hulleberg all ran NCAA Division III provisional times to lead the Haverford College track & field teams at Princeton and Widener.

At the Princeton Larry Ellis Friday Night Races, Milic-Straklj posted his provisional time in the 1,500-meter run. His time of 3:50.83 is third in Division III, only behind teammate Tim Schoch who owns the top two times. Schoch ran a 3:50.35 in the event–which is just off his nation's leading time of 3:49.35. Joseph Carpenter and Anders Hulleberg both made the provisional cut in the 5,000-meter run. It was the first time that they ran in the event this season. Carpenter (14:25.25) ran the second-fastest time in Division III, and Hulleberg (14:26.64) was the third fastest.

Andrew Golato, Eric Arnold and Lucas Fuentes all performed well by setting personal records. Golato crossed the finish line in the 800-meter run in 1:54.89. Arnold's 1,500-meter run time was 3:55.15. Fuentes ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:25.52.

At Widener, Peter Kissin led the way with a third place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a personal best time of 14:53.25. Brian Sokas came in fifth.

Dominique Meeks came in third place in the shot put with a distance of 36'4" (11.07 meters).

Haverford will now ready itself for the three-day Centennial Conference championships that get underway Friday, April 29 at Muhlenberg College.
