Fords track & field performs well at NJ Invitational

EWING, N.J. – The Haverford College men's and women's track &field teams took part in the NJ Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey on Saturday.

Christina Neilson led the women's effort with a victory in the 400-meter dash (59.22) and a second place in the 200-meter dash (26.18). Rachael Potter claimed the top spot in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:08.66. Kara McMahon took home a second place in the 1,500-meter run (4:55.82). The 4x100 relay team of Kimberly Carlomagno, Neilson, Zoe Welch and Hannah Davis was victorious, crossing the line in 49.99

Allison Guindon and Molly Quay-de la Valle both cleared 6' 11.75" (2.13 meters) in the pole vault to claim second place. Emma Kornetsky was second in the triple jump with a distance of 31' 8" (9.65 meters). Dominique Meeks was second in the shot put (37' 9.25", 11.51 meters) and fourth in the discus (99' 10", 30.44 meters).

Ivo Milic-Strkalj topped the men's team by claiming the win in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:54.32. Andrew Golato finished third in the same event after stopping the clock in 1:54.99. Ben Siqueiros (4:03.05) and David Colletta (4:03.71) finished second and third, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run. Richard Dowlat was the third place finisher in the 400-meter dash. The team of Gebby Keny, Golato, Dowlat and Milic-Strkalj took second in the 4x400-meter relay.

Andy Bennett had a pair of second place finishes in the long jump (20' 8.5", 6.31 meters) and the triple jump (41' 5.25", 12.63 meters). Kahmai Martin-Kirkland took home second in the discus (122' 11", 37.48 meters) and third in the shot put (37' 9.5", 11.52 meters).

The track & field teams will compete next weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University and the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian College.
