Fords compete at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College women's 4x400 meter relay team competed Thursday on the first day of the 118th running of the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field.

Competing against Centennial Conference rivals and squads from the Middle Atlantic Conference, the Fords placed sixth with a time of 4 minutes, 3.30 seconds. This matches the fastest time run by Haverford this season in the 4x400. The relay line-up included senior Kylie Lipinski, freshman Kathryn Balmer, sophomore Mariah Braxton, and junior Hannah Davis.

The Fords finished fourth among Centennial institutions as Johns Hopkins ran to a first-place finish of 3:58.98.

Haverford returns to the track on Saturday when it heads to The College of New Jersey for the Lions Invitational. Saturday's meet is the final tune-up before the conference championships which take place at Ursinus College next weekend.
