Career best for Balmer at Tuppeny Last Chance Meet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Freshman Kathryn Balmer's career-best time in the 1,500 meter run highlighted the Haverford College women's track and field team's participation in the Tuppeny Twilight Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College on Monday night.

Balmer placed 26th with a time of 4 minutes, 41.09 seconds which represents a nine second improvement from her time in the event from when the outdoor season began.

Also competing at Swarthmore were senior Kylie Lipinski and sophomore Chelsea Thorsheim. Lipinski took sixth (11 meters/36 feet, 1 1/4 inches) in the triple jump while Thorsheim finished eighth (11:50.46) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

The Fords get one last chance to improve their NCAA qualifying status on Thursday, May 17, at The College of New Jersey's Last Chance Meet.
