HAVERFORD, Pa. - A brief rain shower did not slow down the Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team on Tuesday afternoon as several members of the squad registered personal bests at the Haverford Tri-Meet on Johnson Track.

Senior Cara Keifer's career-best time of 2 minutes, 17.30 seconds led the Fords across the line in the 800-meter run as Haverford claimed the top six spots in the race. Nora Weathers (2:18.87) and Hope Rainey (2:20.11) took the next two spots while season-best marks from Sara Hess and Mary Morgan were good for fourth and fifth, respectively. Freshman Maggie Heffernan placed sixth.

The Fords also dominated in the 1,500m run as sophomore Katie Balmer finished first in 4:50.92. Career-best performances from Andrea Tocci (second, 5:02.76), Molly Allen (third, 5:09.80) and Katherine Greifeld (fourth, 5:20.64) rounded out the top-four finishers in the event.

Jade Andrade added another first-place finish in the 100-meter dash as the sophomore raced to a career-best mark of 13.65 seconds. Classmate Natasha Stanley also established a new career best in the 100m.

Kimberly Haughton's personal-best time of 29.44 in the 200m was good for third. Also running well, senior Jennifer Whealdon accounted for another high finish for Haveford in the 400m with a season-best effort of 1:04.47.

The Fords continued to excel off the track as Katie Bigay took first in the long jump while Lindsay Reid leapt to a new career best of 4.42 meters.

Senior Dominique Meeks placed first in the shot put and came through with a season-best performance in the discus of 29.64 meters while classmate Allison Guindon tied for first in the pole vault.

Carolyn Oehrig added a pair of second-place finishes in the javelin and shot put. The sophomore's mark of 11.06m in the javelin established a new career best.

Villanova University and Widener University also participated on Tuesday.

A handful of Haverford runners will participate in the Penn Relays at Franklin Field on Thursday night before the whole squad gets back into action at The College of New Jersey on Saturday.
