CHESTER, Pa. - Several members of the Haverford College women's outdoor track and field team kicked off the weekend by competing in the 5,000-meter run at the Widener (University) Invitational.

Three Fords finished in the top 20 of the event's 30-person field. Junior Charlotte Lellman led the effort with a career-best time of 18 minutes, 23.06 seconds which was good for sixth. Seniors Flora Berklein and Helen Farley placed 10th and 16th, respectively. Berklein finished in 18:47.44 while Farley registered a career-best time of 19:36.13.

Widener's two-day meet continues on Saturday at 9 a.m.
