INDIANAPOLIS - Haverford College senior Hope Rainey will compete in the NCAA Division III outdoor track & field championships as announced by the organization on Sunday. This year's national meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, will take place Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24.

Rainey, a two-time first-team All-Centennial Conference honoree, qualifed for the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Seeded 10th in the championship field of 22 participants, Rainey established a new program record in the steeplechase on May 12 with a winning time of 10 minutes, 48.21 seconds at a final qualifier meet hosted by Swarthmore College.

Action kicks off at Ohio Wesleyan's George Gauthier Track on May 22 at noon. Rainey, who became just the second repeat winner in the women's steeplechase in the history of the Centennial this season, will compete in the preliminary heats on Thursday with the hopes of qualifying to Saturday's final slated to begin at 1 p.m.
