CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team continued to find success on the second day of the Danny Curran Meet hosted by Widener University. Despite cold and windy conditions, the Fords had several runners near the front packs of their respective races.

Highlighting the Haverford day was a second place finish from Katie Sullivan in the 800 meters. Sullivan finished in a time of 2:20.64, the 24th quickest time in Division III this season. She was edged by Gwynedd Mercy's Christina Smith for the top spot. Katherine Greifeld finished 10th in the first heat and 14th overall in the meet with a time of 2:27.83.

Haverford also had four entrants in the 1,500 meters. Sarah Wade won the second heat of that event in a time of 5:06.66 to place 14th overall in the field. MaryKate Cavanaugh was ninth in that same heat (5:16.66), placing 26th overall. Allison Love was the seventh finisher in her heat and placed 32nd overall with a time of 5:49.62. Liana Alves finished third in the seventh heat (5:49.62), placing 73rd overall on the day.

In the Fords' only action in the field events, both Claire Sargent and Robin Chernow qualified for the finals in the shot put competition. Sargent completed her first collegiate outdoor track & field meet with a fifth place finish. Chernow came in ninth overall.

The women's outdoor track & field team will see a split weekend on the track during the upcoming competition week. The Fords are slated to attend both the Princeton Distance Night on Friday, while other runners will compete in the Muhlenberg Invitational next Saturday.
