Keyser-Gibson Shines in 5,000 Meters at Princeton

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team opened a busy weekend with entrants at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational and the Widener Invitational on Friday evening. Amelia Keyser-Gibson was the headliner for the Fords as she ran the second fastest time in school history during the 5,000 meter race at Princeton.

Keyser-Gibson covered the 5,000 meter distance in a time of 17:21.64. That time cut over six seconds off of her personal best at the outdoor distance and placed her 15th on Friday evening. That mark is currently the 25th quickest time in Division III this season. Nicole Giannetti competed in the steeplechase, finishing in a time of 11:15.63 at Princeton. Katie Sullivan also raced the 1,500 meters and crossed the line in a time of 4:52.34.

At Widener, Claire Sargent placed fourth in the shot put with her best throw being marked at 12.27 meters. That toss was just seven inches shy of her school record in the event. On the track, Sophie Drew placed third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:12.76 to headline a group of seven Haverford entrants in that event. Hannah Doll just missed a top 10 finish as she crossed the line in 18:26.70.
