Women's Outdoor Track & Field Predicted Fourth in CC Preseason Poll

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team has been predicted for a fourth-place finish in the Centennial Conference following a vote of the conference's head coaches. The Fords received 57 voting points in the preseason poll. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Haverford is coming off of a fourth-place finish during the indoor track & field championships after taking fifth place as a team last spring during the 2018 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Championships. Johns Hopkins was picked as the conference's preseason outdoor favorite, while Swarthmore and Dickinson finished second and third in the poll.

The Fords are coming off of an indoor season where they combined for 13 All-Centennial Conference accolades. Jessica Lopez led that group with runner-up finishes in the 60 meters, 200 meters, triple jump, and 4x200 relay. Naomi Fukuda, Tess Oberholtzer, and Jasmine Reed were also members of that 4x200 relay who earned second-team All-CC recognition. The 4x800 relay of Sophie Drew, Molly Hawkins, Jolie Jaycobs, and Griffin Kaulbach were also second-team all-conference performers. Earning honorable mention accolades in the winter were Fiona Flynn (long jump) and Unique Tuberville (weight throw). Drew and Hawkins are also returning second-team All-CC performers from the 2018 outdoor championship as they were also members of that runner-up 4x800 relay last spring.

The outdoor track & field season gets underway for Haverford at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational which will run from Friday, March 29 through Saturday, March 30. The 2019 Centennial Conference Championship meet is slated for Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5 and will be hosted by Widener. Haverford's lone home meet this spring will be the Haverford Invitational on Monday, April 22.
