Women's Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Team Award

USTFCCCA Academic Team Awards

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team has been named a 2019-20 All-Academic Team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This marks the 14th time in the past 15 seasons the Fords have earned this honor since the association combined the indoor and outdoor season into one award.

The Fords posted one of the highest team GPAs in the entire country and led each of their Centennial Conference peers in the academic release. High academic laurels are nothing new for this team as Haverford had 22 student-athletes recognized on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.

To be eligible for this award, teams needed to earn a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher. Haverford has now achieved this mark during each of the past nine seasons.

Although the outdoor track & field season was unable to get underway, Haverford racked up numerous honors during the indoor season. That winter season was highlighted by a pair of bronze medal relay finishes at the Centennial Conference Championships while Jessica Lopez (200m; triple jump) and Unique Tuberville (weight throw) were All-CC honorees following their medal placements at the conference championship.
