Haverford Athletics

  • 53 student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference academic honor roll.
  • 36 student-athletes were named to the All-Centennial Conference team.
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team: Hope Rainey (women’s basketball), Alexander Ranucci (women’s indoor track and field), Mike Iannacone (men’s indoor track and field),  Henry Stevens (men’s basketball)

Men’s Basketball

  • Claimed a thrilling 57-56 Centennial Conference victory over visiting Gettysburg College courtesy of a three-pointer at the buzzer from senior Cam Baker (Dec. 1). 
  • Erupted for 53 second-half points on their way to stunning the eventual conference champion Dickinson College, 77-60, on Jan. 5.
  • The Fords scored the final nine points of the contest and held visiting Franklin & Marshall, the conference front-runner at the time, to just 42 points in a 52-42 victory over the Diplomats on Jan. 26.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Cam Baker – honorable mention, Brett Cohen – honorable mention).
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Cipriano, Cohen, Levine, Stevens, Winkler)

Women’s Basketball

  • Made its second consecutive trip to the Centennial playoffs.
  • Tied the mark for most conference wins in program history with 12.
  • Finished the season ranked 18th nationally in turnovers with a mere 14.3 per game. The Fords also ranked 23rd in three-point field goal defense and 32nd in overall scoring defense.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Meeks – second team, Pizzuto – honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Baskin, Juneja, Pizzuto, Smith)

Dominique Meeks

  • Became the fourth player in women’s basketball history to reach 1,000 points.

Jacquelyne Pizzuto

  • Set a program record for free throw percentage in a single season (.872, 34-for-39).

Nina Voith

  • Became the fifth player in women’s basketball history to reach 1,000 points.

Men’s Indoor Track and Field

  • Finished second at the Centennial Championships.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Stadler – 3,000 meters,  – first team, 5,000 meters – second team, Kissin – 5,000 meters – first team, Schilit – 5,000 meters – first team, Ainsley – heptathlon – first team, 60 meters, high jump – second team, Marquardt – mile, 4x800 relay – second team, distance medley relay – second team, Riccio – 4x800 relay – second team, McNeilly – 4x800 – second team, Milic-Strkalji – 4x800 – second team, mile – honorable mention,  Iannacone – pole vault – honorable mention,  Bennett – triple jump, honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Bregman, Callon, Curry, Fujimori, Gabor, Gandolfo-Lucia,  Gardner, Gooding, Iannacone, Keny, Marsico, Mendelsohn, Priver, Ristow, Schwartz, Smith, Sokas, Stackman, Stadler, Verner-Crist)
  • Milic-Strkalj, Riccio, Schilit, Keny, Marquardt, Stadler and Kissin earned spots at the NCAA Division III Championships.
  • The distance medley relay team of Milic-Strkalj, Keny, Riccio and Schilit raced to a fourth-place finish and All-American honors at the NCAA indoor championships.

Gabby Keny

  • Part of the distance medley relay team raced to a fourth-place finish and All-American honors at the NCAA indoor championships.

Ivo Milic-Strkalji

  • Part of the distance medley relay team raced to a fourth-place finish and All-American honors at the NCAA indoor championships.

Michael Riccio

  • Part of the distance medley relay team raced to a fourth-place finish and All-American honors at the NCAA indoor championships.

Jordan Schilit

  • Part of the distance medley relay team raced to a fourth-place finish and All-American honors at the NCAA indoor championships.

Christopher Stadler

  • Captured the national title in the 5,000 meters run to earn All-American honors.
  • Was named the outstanding track performer of the men’s conference championship meet.

  • Finished in a tie for second at the Centennial Championships
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Hendry – 5,000 meters – first team, Kornetsky – long jump, triple jump – second team, Davis – 400 meters – second team, 4x200 relay – honorable mention, Andrade – 4x200 relay – second team, Bigay – 4x200 relay – honorable mention, Carlomagno – 4x200 relay – honorable mention,  distance medley relay team – honorable mention,  Balmer – mile – honorable mention, Riffenbugh – 5,000 meters – honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Allen, Balmer, Berklein, Braxton, Duffy, Farley, Freeley, Greifeld, Howe, James, Kahn, Kantor, Lellman, Murphy, Quay-de la Vallee, Ranucci, Thorsheim)

Katie Balmer

  • Earned a spot competing in the mile at the NCAA Division III Championships, racing to a ninth-place finish in the event final.
  • Set two program records in the mile in less than a week including a career-best time of 4 minutes, 55.85 seconds in the preliminaries of the NCAA championships.

Men’s Fencing

  • Placed third at the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) championships.
  • Aaron Ruby placed seventh out of the best 36 sabre fencers in the region and just missed qualifying for nationals.

Women’s Fencing

  • Placed third at the National Intercollegiate Women’s Fencing Association (NIWFA) championships.
  • Placed second at the Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference (EWFC) championships.
  • Coaching staff was named the EWFC 2013 Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • EWFC All-Conference team – (Braun – foil – first team, Sofia – epee – first team, Petersen – epee – first team,  Horn – sabre – first team, Behling – sabre – first team, Elbert – foil – second team)

Men’s Squash

  • Earned the Barnaby Award for the most improved team in men’s collegiate squash.
  • Senior Andy McComas was invited to play in the CSA national individual tournament.

Women’s Squash

  • Won the College Squash Association (CSA) E Division Championship.
  • Team’s seven wins ties them with the 2002-2003 squad for the second-most wins in program history.
  • Senior Hannah Miller was recognized as the standout player of the E Division.
  • Junior Caroline Nightingale was invited to play in the CSA national individual tournament.
