Haverford College Athletics

  • 65 fall student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
  • Men's Cross Country won its second straight Centennial Conference title and finished second at the NCAA National Championship
  • Women's Cross Country team finished 28th at the NCAA National Championship
  • Roxanne Jaffe became Haverford's third All-American in women's field hockey.

Men’s Cross Country

  • Finished second at the NCAA national championship.
  • Won its second straight, and 17th overall, Centennial  title.
  • Named Division III scholar team of the year for second year in a row.
  • Team finished first at the USTFCCCA Mideast Regional.
  • All-Mideast region and All-Conference -(Arnold - first team, Sturner - first team, Schilit- first team, Kissin - first team, Sokas - first team, Schoch - first team, Milic-Strkalj - first team)
  • USTFCCCA All-Academic Team – (Arnold, Schoch, Sturner, Kissin, Milic-Strkalj).

Tom Donnelly 

  • Named USTFCCCA Mideast Region and Centennial Conference Coach of the Year

John Schilit

  • NCAA Division III All-American
  • Led the men’s cross country team with an 18th-place finish at nationals and finished first at the league championship.

Brian Sokas 

  • NCAA Division III All-American

Andrew Sturner

  • NCAA Division III All-American
  • Centennial Conference Performer of the Year
  • Philadelphia Inquirer/Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team

Eric Arnold

  • Philadelphia Inquirer/Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team

Women’s Cross Country
  • Team finished 28th at the NCAA National Championship.
  • Earned all-academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the fifth consecutive year.
  • All-Mideast Region team-(Lipman, Scott, Tocci, Vienneau).
  • All-Centennial Conference- (Lipman – first team, Scott – first team, Tocci –second team, Hess –second team).
  • USTFCCCA All-Academic Team- (Lipman, Vienneau)

Emily Lipman

  • Finished second at the conference championship meet.

Field Hockey
  • NFHCA all-region honors, along with all-conference nods- (Jaffe, Gibbons, Hobbs).
  • 2011 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad- (Braun, Gall, Jaffe, Morgan-Trostle, Selsor, Crist, Gibbons, Hobbs, Hyder, Knill, Mayo, Quake, Bissey, Fagan, Morgan, Murphy).
  • 2011 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III national academic team award.

Roxanne Jaffe

  • Named a NFHCA All-American (third team); becoming Haverford’s third all-American in the history of the program.

Men’s Soccer

  • Team earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Awards for the 2010-11 academic years.
  • Men’s soccer interim coach Shane Rineer had the interim tag removed after leading the Fords to a conference championship appearance, where the team tied in regulation but failed to advance via penalty kicks.
  • All-Centennial Conference team- (Gorksi –first team, Reingruber – second team, Rettig y Martinez – second team).


Women’s Soccer

  • 2011 NCAA Women's Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team- (Van Aken – second team, Newman –third team)
  • Team earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Awards for the 2010-11 academic year.
  • Team picked up 12 wins and advanced to the conference semifinals.
  • Team had the most players (six) named to the All-Centennial Conference team since 2004- (Van Aken – first team, Newman – first team, Andrade – honorable mention, Chen – honorable mention, Boyer – honorable mention, Chernow –honorable mention). 


Volleyball

  • Advanced to the conference semifinals under first-year coach Michele Benoit.
  • All-Centennial Conference team- (Lowrance - first team, Ramos –second team, Abbassi – third team).
