HAVERFORD, Pa. – Kahlil Garnes has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career after averaging 19 points per game over the past two games for the Fords. The junior shot just under 50% from the field and was 16-of-19 at the charity stripe.

Garnes started his week with a 6-of-10 shooting night during Haverford's 72-58 win over Bryn Athyn to avenge its defeat from a season ago. Garnes also went 13-of-15 at the free throw line to collect the ninth highest single-game point total in school history at the charity stripe. Finishing that game with 26 points, he scored 17 of those during the second half against the Lions.

Against Eastern, Garnes scored 12 points in the opening 20 minutes and finished with 13 points overall during an 83-75 setback. Garnes' 12 first half points came in just 16 minutes of game action during the opening period.

Garnes is currently leading the Fords in points per game (14.3), free throws made (39), free throws attempted (49), and assists (25), while ranking second on the team in steals (16) and minutes per game (28.5). He is currently fifth in program history with an 81.1% career free throw percentage. His 143 points scored through nine games rank second among all Centennial Conference players to date.

With finals week upon the College, men's basketball will not return to competition until Wednesday, January 3 when the Fords travel to Penn State Brandywine for a 7 p.m. road tip. Haverford returns home for Centennial Conference play on Saturday, January 6 with a 3 p.m. scheduled start against Dickinson.
