WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Haverford College men's basketball team (4-21, 1-17 CC) wrapped up its season with a challenging match against McDaniel (11-14, 6-12 CC), the contest concluding with a 73-44 score in favor of the hosts inside the Gill Center on Saturday.

Despite the outcome, Gaven Marr showcased his scoring prowess, reaching double figures with a commendable 11-point performance, including two impressive three-pointers. Logan Brown demonstrated his versatility with a game-best eight rebounds, along with a steal and a block.

McDaniel initiated the game with a 16-6 spurt, fueled by Chuck Contee's standout performance on his Senior Day, as he finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Teammate Joey Reiling also made a significant impact for the Green Terror, contributing 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

The McDaniel lead eventually stretched to 30-13, prompting a Haverford timeout searching for answers to slow the Green Terror offense. Jonas Sujeta connected on a triple ahead of a Reiling shot from long distance, extending the hosts lead to 38-13. Clay Killoren floated in a layup before the halftime intermission to end a 14-0 run.

Down 38-15 at the half, Haverford was stunned by another quick McDaniel run, as a 9-2 stretch was interrupted by a pair of Gabriel Franklin jumpers. Contee answered to put his team up 52-18, but Marr collected a three with 15:13 remaining to cut the lead to 52-23. Nicholas Stewart contributed a triple with 13:16 to go, and the Fords called for timeout following a jumper from Ali Kaan Bek down 52-28 with 11:28 to play.

Brown cut the lead to 19 with a layup at 8:13 to go, prompting a McDaniel timeout, but back-to-back triples from Reiling essentially served as the dagger, putting the Green Terror up by 25 at 60-35 with 7:02 remaining.

Zach Perry came into the contest with 3:42 to play and immediately sank back-to-back shots while Will Hatfield and Franklin contributed layups in the final 90 seconds.

The Fords owned the rebounding advantage on Saturday, 39-36, but were stymied by McDaniel's 22 points off turnovers and a cold shooting night from three-point land.

Looking ahead to the 2024-25 season, Haverford will have to find the best way to replicate the presence of a talented senior class that showcased leadership through adversity and provided a bevy of memorable moments, but the Fords will head into the offseason with the future looking bright inside Gooding Arena with credit to the emergence of a first-year class that included Nick Klaiber, Gaven Marr, Logan Brown, Ali Kaan Bek and Seth Anderson all seeing meaningful time and making contributions on a nightly basis in their rookie campaigns.
