CARLISLE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's basketball team (4-15, 1-11 CC) was denied by host Dickinson (8-11, 5-7 CC) on Saturday, falling by a 57-38 final at the Kline Center. The Fords struggled offensively from the field, as the Dickinson defense held Haverford to just an 18.5 percent clip from the field.

Nate Ogbu was the only player for either team in double-digit scoring, adding a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, also chipping in three assists. Gabriel Franklin, Gaven Marr, Ali Kaan Bek, and Clay Killoren all chipped in with six points each for the Fords, while Killoren notched a career-best 11 rebounds.

Dickinson began the contest on a 10-0 run, forcing a Haverford timeout as Skyler Venezia and Brandon Wiercinski each connected from long range ahead of an Ogbu jumper. Kaan Bek ended the run with a three-pointer with 16:10 to go in the first, and a pair of Marr free-throws cut the lead to just five at 10-5 with 14:48 to play. Brandon Banadda added a pair from the line as the Dickinson advantage was just four, but a dunk from Ogbu and a jumper from Isaiah Edmond restored a nine-point cushion for the Red Devils.

Dickinson built its lead to 23-12, but Franklin and Killoren each scored for the Fords to bring things back within single digits. Wiercinski answered with a three, kickstarting a 7-0 run that gave the hosts a 14-point cushion at the halftime intermission.

Out of the halftime gates, the Red Devils erupted on a 13-2 run that put Dickinson up by 25 and in full command. Banadda was able to end the run with a jumper that came with 13:06 left, but Dickinson extended the lead out to 49-23 before a Marr three-pointer at 8:09 brought the Fords back within 23.

With under five minutes to go, four consecutive made free-throws from Killoren whittled the advantage down to 20, and Haverford scored its final 10 points of the contest from the free-throw line, with Franklin and Seth Anderson also converting from the charity stripe in the waning moments. The Fords excelled from the stripe all afternoon long, pouring in 16-of-20.

Dickinson held a slight 44-39 advantage on the glass, while adding 15 points off turnovers to 13 for the Fords.

Men's Basketball now heads back out on the road, trekking to Chestertown as the Fords look to complete the season sweep of Washington College on Wednesday, January 31. Haverford came away with a hard-fought 68-53 victory over the Shoremen at home on November 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., with the Haverford women's game against the Shorewomen to get underway at 6 p.m.
