CHESTER, Pa. – Seniors Peter Kissin and Jordan Schilit led Haverford College's runners in a pair of events Friday at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University. Schilit captured the 800-meter run, and Kissin was third in the 1,500 with a career-best time.

Kissin crossed the finish of the 1,500 in a time of 3 minutes, 57.43 seconds which surpassed his previous best by five seconds. Christopher Stadler, the Fords' national champion in the indoor 5,000 this past winter, was 11th Friday in the 1,500, also posting a career-best mark (4:02.84) at a distance shorter than his normal race length. Haverford's David Colletta cracked the top 25 at Widener with a 20th-place time of 4:05.82.

In the 800, Schilit edged out Edward Buck, an unattached runner at the Invitational, by three-tenths of a second, leaning across the finish in a winning time of 1:55.32. Michael Riccio (fourth, 1:57.00) and Chris Gardner (16th, 2:01.69) were also in the top 25 for the Fords.

Friday's events wrapped up Day 2 of the invitational, following Thursday's 5,000m victory from the Fords' Brian Sokas.

The Danny Curran Invite opens the outdoor season for the men's track & field team, serving as a tune-up -- coming off the tighter track of indoor season -- for the Sam Howell Memorial Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Friday and the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday.
