PHILADELPHIA – Haverford College senior Jordan Schilit raced to a sixth-place finish Thursday night in the College 5,000-meter run championship event at the historic Penn Relays on the Franklin Field track of the University of Pennsylvania.

Schilit's time of 14 minutes, 13.58 seconds was the fastest Division III performance in the event which was won by Henry Lelei of Texas A&M in a time of 13:45.30.

Thursday's performance by Schilit also takes over the top spot on the team and in the Centennial Conference this spring while moving up to third-fastest in the nation among D-III runners.

Schilit and his Haverford teammates will travel to Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., for their next meet, the Centennial Conference championship which runs May 3-5.

Beyond the conference meet, Schilit and several other Fords have likely earned spots at the NCAA D-III championship meet in La Crosse, Wis., on May 23-25.
