Men's T&F Runs in Dual Meet vs. Widener

HAVERFORD,Pa. – The men's outdoor track and field team hosted Widener in a dual meet at Johnson Track on the campus of Haverford College Tuesday afternoon. The Fords took home many individual titles and had multiple participants set personal records.

Junior Charlie Marquardt took home the 800m event with a 1:55.85. JuniorRyan Gooding placed sixth in the event setting a personal record (1:57.91). Sophomore Julian Schneider (1:58.77) and senior Chris Gardner (1:59.19) each finished in the top ten as well.

The Fords had five runners in the top 10 in the 1,500m highlighted by freshman Henry Woods' winning time (4:00.73). Senior David Roza was second (4:02.09), senior Soren Rasmussen (4:05.84) placed fourth while freshman Marcelo Jauregui-Volpe (4:11.44), sophomore Evan Hamilton(4:14.25) and freshman James Stadler (4:15.09) also finished in the top ten. Jauregui-Volpe, Hamilton, Stadler, freshman Matthew Willig (4:18.76) and senior Zachary Gabor (4:45.38) raced to their career best times.

Junior Dorvil Gabriel ran the 110m hurdles (16:55) and took home the crown in the 400m hurdles (59.25). Freshman Josiah Legaspi set his personal best with a throw of 11.56m in the shot put and 28.55m in the discus. Senior Alex Smith's 33.60m throw in the discus was the best of his career.

Head coach Tom Donnelly's squad will now travel to West Chester on Friday for the West Chester Open before the Centennial Conference Championships next week (May 1-3) at Muhlenberg College.
