Lynch Wins 800m Heat to Pace Men's Outdoor Track and Field at Danny Curran Invite

CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College men's outdoor track and field team resumed action at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday afternoon with solid times throughout the day of action at Widener University. 

In the 800m, Liam Lynch finished third overall after winning his heat with a time of 1:56.58. The time was an outdoor best for Lynch. Hiroshi Kawakatsu crossed in 18th with a time of 2:04.29 and Tyler Fong finished in 2:05.39, good for 26th place. Mike Brier was 35th in 2:07.30.

In the 1500m, Chris Goings finished in 17th place with a time of 4:08.20 while Peter Kurtzfollowed in 20th place with a time of 4:09.58. James Barker crossed in 39th with a time of 4:18.38, Ian Woodhouse was 56th in 4:28.57 and Joshua Frye was 64th in 4:37.99.Arthur Chang rounded out the Fords contingent in the race with a 69th place finish in 4:42.41.

In the 400m, Alex Frost crossed in 24th with a time of 53.90. In the 400m hurdles, Zach Oji finished 16th with a time of 1:00.21.

Jack Brower finished 11th in the high jump with a mark of 1.75m while Rohan Shukla finished 18th with a career-best mark of 5.55m in the long jump. Brower competed in the long jump as well, finishing 23rd with a 5.38m distance. 

Chris Glazer (5.10m) and Cameron Albrecht (4.80m) were 33rd and 35th, respectively, in the long jump. George Avecillas finished 19th in the javelin with a mark of 40.92m.

The Fords will be back in action on Saturday, April 8 at the West Chester Invitational, hosted by Division II West Chester University. The meet is slated to begin at 10:00 am.
