Men's Track & Field Places Eight on All-CC Teams

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Centennial Conference announced its outdoor track and field All-Conference selections on Wednesday afternoon with eight members of the Haverford College men's outdoor track and field team taking home honors by virtue of their performances at the conference championships in Baltimore earlier this month.

Athletes who won events at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Championships are listed as the All-Centennial Conference first team while second place finishers are the second team. Third place finishers were All-CC honorable mention.

The Fords excelled in the distance events in Baltimore, as Henry Woods paced the field in the 5000m to take home First-team All-Centennial honors and Dylan Gearinger led the way in the 10,000m for a first team designation.

Gearinger was the most decorated Ford at the outdoor championship meet, also finishing in second in the 5000m to take home a second team plaudit in the distance.  Jimmy Gorman finished second to Gearinger in the 10,000m for a second team designation while Graham Peet crossed in second in the steeplechase for a second team honor.

Charlie Hale came in third and earned honorable mention as Haverford swept the podium in the 10,000m.  James Stadler was third in the steeplechase and Liam Lynch took the bronze in the 400m to round out the Haverford award winners.

Gearinger, Peet, Lynch and Gorman all add outdoor honors to indoor recognition earlier this season. Gearinger was a first-team honoree during the indoor season after taking the 3000m crown at Ursinus in late February.

Mason Hepner of Dickinson was honored as the Track Performer of the Year while Logan Lewis of Franklin & Marshall was named the Field Performer of the Year. Bobby Van Allen of Johns Hopkins was named the Coach of the Year in outdoor track & field.

Haverford will now head to the final last chance of the season, at Widener University on Thursday afternoon. Qualified entries for the NCAA National Championships at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio will be announced on Saturday pending the results of the final qualifying meets taking place throughout the nation this week.
