HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team has been named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) 2017-18 Division III Men's All-Academic team, the organization announced on Thursday morning. Haverford was awarded with the designation for the 13th consecutive season, dating back to when the organization combined the indoor and outdoor seasons into one award.

In order to be in contention for Scholar Team of the Year, a program must finish highly at their respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA. In total, 106 men's teams in Division III were honored.

In addition to the team award, juniors Dylan Gearinger, Ryan Herlihy, Liam Lynch, Greg Morgan, and Graham Peet joined senior Henry Woods as USTFCCCA All-Academic individuals. In order to be eligible for All-Academic designation, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have either competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished in the top 50 in an individual event or top 35 of a relay event as listed on the official NCAA Descending Order List.

Gearinger, Lynch, Morgan, Peet and Woods qualified by virtue of their appearance at the NCAA Championships while Herlihy qualified after finishing as the 47th fastest qualifying time in the 10,000 meters at Princeton's Sam Howell Invitational in April.

The men's program adds the USTFCCCA team and individual awards to a multitude of academic successes in 2017-18, including Graham Peet's Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year Award, four Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selections (Peet, Gearinger, Morgan, and Woods), two CoSIDA Academic All-America designations (Gearinger and Woods), and three CoSIDA Academic All-District plaudits (Gearinger, Peet and Woods).

In addition, the Fords had 48 combined recipients on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll between the indoor and outdoor seasons. Peet was additionally named the Centennial Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year for the indoor track & field season.
