COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - A year after finishing second in the event, Haverford senior Ryan Kredell continued his stellar senior season with a gold medal in the 10,000 meters at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, getting the Fords out on the right foot to begin things at Ursinus Friday evening.

Haverford currently sits in third in the team standings with 21 points at the end of the first day of action. Kredell finished in 30:51.79, edging out Gavin McElhennon of Johns Hopkins, last year's champion, who crossed in 30:53.85. Kredell is the first Haverford champion in the event since 2019, (Graham Peet '19).

Adding to Haveford's stellar night, Peter LaRochelle also added a bronze medal, with a time of 30:58 for third place, keeping pace with his teammate for much of the event, while Aaron Bratt scored for the Fords in fourth (31:03.17). Miles Colescott was just outside the scoring for Haverford in 12th place (32:29.08) to round out the Haverford contingent in the 10,000 meters.

Haverford's only other event on Friday was the men's hammer throw, as senior Juan Miguel Pinto Diaz finished 21st overall with a toss of 27.93 meters (91 feet, 7 inches).

The second day of events at the CC Championships begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. as day two features a bevy of scoring events as well as prelims for many track distances. Live video and live results are available via the CC Championships Central page.
