Kredell Named Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Year To Highlight All-CC Teams

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College senior Ryan Kredell was named the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year to headline the All-Conference awards release from the Centennial Conference on Friday afternoon.

The Geneva, Illinois product was Haverford's Varsity Cup co-winner earlier this week, added another illustrious honor to his standout career at Haverford, capturing his first Athlete of the Year honor in the outdoor season.

Kredell put together another exceptional campaign in the distance events, ranking among the top-12 nationally in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs. The CC champion in both events, Kredell ranks ninth in the 10,000 with a top time of 29:35.23 at the Danny Curran Invitational on March 30, and ranks 12th in the 5,000 with a mark of 14:06.89 from the Penn Relays on April 27.

He was the top Division III finisher at the 5K at the Penn Relays. Kredell's two event wins at the CC meet helped the Fords to a third-place team finish at Ursinus a season ago.

Kredell follows in the footsteps of Graham Peet (2019), who was the last Haverford winner to earn the award. Haverford has had nine CC Outdoor Track Performer of the Year Awards. With the format split between Performer of the Year and Performer of the Meet this season, Jamie Moreland was named the CC Performer of the Meet on Sunday.

In other All-CC designations, Jamie Moreland picked up gold in both the 800 meters and the 1,500 meters, adding to Kredell's two event crowns. Jonathan Hill (200 meters) and Peter LaRochelle (5,000 meters) picked up silvers, while LaRochelle earned honorable mention in the 10,000.

Haverford will now continue its season on Monday afternoon at the Widener Final Qualifier in Chester, Pa. looking to post qualifying times to the NCAA National Championships over Memorial Day Weekend in Rochester, N.Y. on the campus of St. John Fisher University.
