Men's Track & Field Collects 13 USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region Certificates

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season this week. Haverford men's track & field matched its lofty total from the indoor season, garnering 13 total All-Region certificates on Friday afternoon. 

All-Region designation is given to student-athletes who rank within the top five marks for an individual event according to the final TFRRS list in their respective regions. Runners who are part of relays that finish within the top three in the region are also designated as All-Region athletes. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field seasons.

Senior Ryan Kredell earned a trio of All-Region designations, picking up the award for the 10,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and 1,500 meters. Kredell displayed his versitality as he recorded the third-best 1,500-meter mark in the region (3:48.89) while also earning the top mark in both the 5,000 meters (14:06.89) and 10,000 (29:35.23). 

Jamie Moreland also earned a pair of plaudits, with his 1,500-meter (3:46.76) and 800-meter (1:49.10) performances each ranking as the top in the Metro this season. Sophomore Peter LaRochelle also earned two honors, excelling in the the distance events as he was behind just Kredell as the second-fastest 5,000-meter mark (14:31.34) and the second-fastest 10,000 time (30:30.71).

Aaron Bratt also was recognized for his strong performances in the distance events, earning the honor for the 5,000-meter as the fourth-fastest time in the region (14:40.75), and the 10,000-meter, checking in as the third-fastest mark (30:31.39) as Haverford continued its distance dominance within the Metro region. 

Miles Colescott (fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 31:13.70), Reza Eshghi (fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:49.94), Nathaniel Leighninger (fifth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:40.45), and Nico Tripeny (third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:37.83) also earned an All-Region certificate on Friday. 

For Kredell and Moreland, action likely continues as the NCAA Championship begins on Thursday, May 25. The championships take place in Rochester, N.Y. and are hosted by St. John Fisher University. Action continues through Memorial Day weekend. A full selection announcement is slated to begin unveiled shortly.
