Kredell, Moreland to Represent Haverford at NCAA Championships

Full NCAA Selection Announcement

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford seniors Ryan Kredell and Jamie Moreland will represent Haverford at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Rochester, N.Y. as accepted entries for next weekend's NCAA Division III Championships were announced on Friday evening.

Action will begin at 5:30 p.m. as Moreland, the 10th seed in the event, contests the prelims of the 1,500-meter race on Thursday, May 25. Should Moreland advance out of the preliminary heats, he will contest the final at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. Last season, Moreland was named an All-American in the event, becoming the 29th All-American in program history in that discipline. Kredell also gets going in the 10,000 meters under the lights, with action slated for 9:05 p.m. Kredell enters as the 9th seed with a seed time of 29:35.23.

Kredell is the first 10,000-meter qualifier for the Fords since Graham Peet in 2019. In total, the Fords have had eight All-America finishers in the distance, including three individual national championships. JB Haglund won the 2002 event, while Seamus McElligott captured back-to-back crowns in 1990 and 1991. Chris Stadler was the last All-America finisher, taking home a runner-up nod in 2014.

On Saturday, Kredell looks to complete his distance double with the finals only 5,000-meter race at 4 p.m, an event in which he enters as the 15th seed (14:06.89).

Haverford has placed 10 All-Americans in the outdoor 5,000 meters, with Stadler capturing the national title in the event in 2014. Haglund and McElligott also added the 5,000-meter crown to their 10,000-meter titles.

The complete list of participants is available here. The website is maintained by Delta Timing, a computer services company that provides results for NCAA track and field and cross country meets. For each men's individual contest, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
