Sprinters Highlight Day Two at Danny Curran Invitational for Men's Track & Field

CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track & field team wrapped up the two-day Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday at Widener University, with a group of sprinters shining throughout the day.

In the 100 meters, Jonathan Hill led the Fords, securing 23rd place with a career-best time of 11.25. This performance catapults Hill into the top 10 marks in program outdoor history, now holding the ninth position. Zenas Boamah made his outdoor debut with a time of 11.58, placing 34th. Additionally, Jason Mayo (50th, 11.84) marked his outdoor debut, and Vir Goyal achieved a career-best time of 12.02, securing 65th place.

Nathan Ma finished 73rd (12.22), followed by Jonah Hoffman-Weitsman in 81st place, setting a personal best of 12.46. Kevin Villafane crossed the line in 90th place (13.04), closely followed by Boahen Kwakye in 91st (13.05).

Moving to the 200-meter dash, Hill continued to impress with a 14th-place finish (22.41), while Boamah clocked in at 23.69, securing 46th place. Goyal finished 49th overall (23.86), with Mayo close behind in 58th (24.10). Hoffman-Weitsman placed 73rd (25.19), followed by Ma in 75th (25.26). Gordon finished 82nd (25.95), with Villafane in 86th (26.7). Kwakye secured 88th place with a time of 27.12, while Hongyi Zhang made his Haverford debut, finishing 90th (31.52).

Leon Gordon finished 44th in the 400 meters (56.81), with Matthew Ruiz closely following in 48th place (1:00.40). Gopal Patel was the sole entrant in the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:06.95.

In field events, Tiger Wang participated in the Javelin toss, clearing 39.75 meters (130 feet, five inches), earning him 21st place overall.

Haverford will now return to action next week, heading to Ursinus College for the two-day Ursinus Outdoor Invitational . Action is slated to begin at 5 p.m. on day one before beginning on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
