HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team will begin championship season this Saturday at Franklin & Marshall with the 2020 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Fords placed fourth at this meet a season ago, but have finished first or second in the team standings during 19 of the CC's 26 indoor championships. The meet will begin on Saturday, February 29 and continue through Sunday, March 1.

Relays have always been a strong suit of the Fords as they have won 34 relay championships during the conference's championship history, including a sweep of all four relays en route to the 2007-08 team title. Haverford's relays look to be strong once again as the Fords bring the top 4x200 team into the field with Marisa Antinori, Jessica Lopez, Jahsaiah Moses, and Jasmine Reed posting a season-best 1:49.52 at the McElligott Invitational just two weeks ago.

The Fords have yet to run a 4x800 meter relay this year but were second a season ago in that event. They return both Molly Hawkins and Jolie Jaycobs from that relay team. Haverford is also seeded fourth in both the DMR and 4x400 relays after respective third and fourth place finishes at the 2019 championship.

Individually, junior Jessica Lopez was a four-time second-team All-CC performer at last year's championship meet and is entered in three events on top of relays that she could enter. After finishing second in each of these events in 2019, Lopez enters the championship ranked second in the 200 meters, fifth in the 60 meters, and seventh in the triple jump. Marisa Antinori joins her teammate looking to break into the top eight of the 60 meter dash along with her entry in the long jump.

First-year Jahsaiah Moses could be poised for a breakout championship meet as she enters the weekend seeded fourth in the 400 meters and eighth in the long jump. Also on the track, Hannah Doll is ranked eighth in the 3,000 meters while Mariana Ramirez will represent the Fords in the 800 meters. Four Fords: Izzy Miller, Angie Petrichenko, Cate Tomson, and Ellie Keating make the 5,000 meters Haverford's most heavily concentrated group of individual entrants.

Throwers Unique Tuberville and Mari Horton have also been historically strong at the conference championship. Tuberville, the school record holder in the weight throw, was third in that event last year to earn All-Centennial Conference recognition and is seeded in that same position entering the 2020 championship. Tuberville and Horton both scored in the shot put with fifth and seventh place finishes a year ago. They are seeded 10th and 13th but will look to improve on those marks this weekend.

Live video and live results from all 19 events from both genders will be available throughout the weekend of competition. A full schedule of the 2020 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships is also available through the Centennial Conference Championship webpage.
