Scott leads Fords to 12th place at Brooks-Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Competing against a number of Division I, II and III institutions, the Haverford College women's cross country team placed 12th of 41 teams in the Brown Division of the Brooks-Paul Short Run Friday afternoon. The Fords recorded 350 points, six behind 11th place SUNY-Plattsburgh.

Emily Scott had an impressive finish in just her second collegiate race. Scott finished 33rd (22 minutes, 51 seconds) and was the first freshman D-III runner to cross the finish line. Alice Vienneau was the second Ford to finish, clocking in at a time of 23:09. Erin Seglem, Haverford's top-finisher last Saturday, was on the heels of Vienneau, finishing four seconds later.

Sheera Rosenbaum and Flora Berklein took the final two scoring positions for the Fords as they finished 11 seconds apart. Rosenbaum placed 89th in a time of 23:32 while Berklein crossed the finish line in 23:43.

Rutgers University won the race while Millersville University's Elicia Anderson finished first in a time of 21:03.

The Fords will send runners to the Belmont Classic hosted by Cabrini College Saturday. The race starts at noon.
