Fords tabbed third in Centennial women's cross country poll

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's cross country team was picked to finish third in the Centennial Conference 2012 preseason women's cross country poll as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.

The Fords garnered one first-place vote and 63 points overall to finish third in the voting. Claiming the top spot with 81 points, defending champion Johns Hopkins University received all nine possible first-place votes as teams were not permitted to vote for themselves. Dickinson College finished second with 71 points.

In 2011, Haverford took second in the conference and fourth in the Mideast Region on its way to a 28th place finish at the NCAA national meet.
