Women's cross country hosts annual alumnae meet

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's cross country program welcomed several former runners back to campus on Saturday evening as the Fords hosted the annual alumnae meet.

Fifteen alumnae competed against the current varsity team in the three-mile race on Alumni Course with junior Kelley Riffenburgh placing first in 18 minutes, 27 seconds. Senior Emily Scott (18:31.50) and sophomore Nora Weathers (18:31.80) followed in second and third, respectively. Senior Flora Berklein finished fourth in 18:41.70 and sophomore Maggie Heffernan took fifth (18:48.40) to round out the top five spots.

Sara Hess '13 led the alumnae across the line in sixth (19:02.80) with Cara Keifer '13 finishing right behind in seventh (19:03.00). Annick Lamar '08 and Sharon Warner '12 claimed eighth and ninth, respectively, while junior Erin Seglem (10th) gave the varsity team six finishers in the top 10.

Megan Bonney '08 placed 14th to cap the team scoring in the race that the varsity won by a score of 15-44.

The varsity squad returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 26, when the Fords host the Main Line Invitational at 5 p.m.
