PRINCETON, N.J. - The Haverford College women's cross country team was the top Division III finisher at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday morning.

Placing 13th overall out of 25 teams, the Fords accumulated 339 points to finish in front of several D-I squads including University of Hartford, University of Maryland, Syracuse University and Rider University. Duquesne University claimed the team title with 47 points while Columbia University's 90-point effort was good for second.

Leading the Haverford performance at Princeton University's West Windsor Fields race course was junior Kelley Riffenburgh who placed 62nd. Riffenburgh, the third D-III finisher in the field of over 200 runners, crossed the finish line of the six-kilometer race in 22 minutes, 54 seconds. Four of Riffenburgh's teammates were not far behind, however, as the squad's five scorers were separated by less than 20 seconds.

Freshman Clarice Bourland finished three seconds after Riffenburgh in 64th place (22:57) and then senior Emily Scott (72nd, 23:02) gave the Fords three finishers in the top 75.

Junior Charlotte Lellman (23:08) and freshman Nora Weathers (23:12) grabbed Haverford's last two scoring spots in 77th and 79th, respectively.

Meghan McGlinchy finished in 20:54 to place first in the Women's Championship Race.

Senior Erin Seglem was the top finisher in the Open Race that occurred on Saturday afternoon at Princeton. Seglem crossed the line in 24:11 to place 17th.

The Fords, ranked 13th in this week's national poll, host the Haverford Invitational on Oct. 25 before competing in the Centennial Conference cross country championships at McDaniel College on Nov. 2.
