USTFCCCA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country team checked in at No. 25 in the final U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll released before the NCAA Mideast Regional in two weekends. The Fords, who placed third this past weekend at the Centennial Conference Championship, are down just one position from their highest ranking of the year attained in the previous release.

At the Centennial Conference Championship, the senior trio of Katie Sullivan, Amelia Keyser-Gibson, and Nicole Giannetti all achieved All-Centennial Conference recognition. Sullivan garnered first-team honors for the third time in her career, while Giannetti (her second honor) and Keyser-Gibson (her first) were named second-team All-CC performers for their respective finishes in the top 10. Two first year runners, Hannah Yeakey and Hannah Doll, were the Fords' fourth and fifth scoring runners.

The Mideast Region continues to have four teams ranked nationally with the preseason top four changing for the first time all season. Johns Hopkins, the Centennial Conference Champion, retained its position as the unanimous No. 1 team in the poll. Elizabethtown moved up to second in the region and 18th nationally after winning the Landmark Conference. Dickinson, who edged out the Fords by just eight points at the conference meet, dropped to third in the region and 23rd in the national rankings.

Women's cross country will have the upcoming weekend away from competition as the Fords prepare for the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, November 11. Hosted by Dickinson, the top two teams in the Mideast Region will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Division III Championship.
